Wow. French influence. Right. The west always portraying themselves as though they invented or influenced every thing around the globe, be that science, medicine, food or education. Not your fault thats what the western media is there for to brainwash. If anything the french and the spanish were influenced by the berbers and their way of cooking.

Concerning the "French influence" thing, I think you've got it backwards. These Moroccan dishes actually go back to the Imperial period of Morocco (the rule of dynasties like the Almoravids, the Almohads, the Merinids), and it was actually the Moors who influenced European cuisine at the time. In fact, modern Moroccan cuisine is only a shadow of what it was back in those days.
