This story rings true for the time and place this story was set in. The heroine of the story was brave and insecure which added to her character. The hero was a man honor.

Loved this story of two people falling in love. I also loved the sweet laugh-out-loud humor. Thanks for a great read.

I usually don't leave reviews but felt i needed to with this audiobook. The book itself is a wonderful story but in the audio format I noticed there were several parts of the original book that was not on the audiobook. Very disappointing since Julie Garwood is one of my favorite authors. The person reading the book is hard to follow as well.

I usually enjoy reading books by Julie Garwood. The dialog is humorous, the plot and characters are charming enough to pass the time enjoyably. Most often I find myself finishing one of her books in a weekend. Honor's Splendour felt like it was written by a completely different author. The sentence structure is choppy and that makes it feel like it doesn't "flow" when you're reading it. The characters seem particularly one dimensional, there's no real antagonists, no seemingly insurmountable obstacles to overcome, just a bunch of almost cut-and-paste scenes haphazardly slapped together into some semblance of order with a very rushed "blink and you miss it" type ending. I swear it was written by someone else...
