With the help of his legal team and a private investigator, Daniel is determined to find out what really happened to Mrs. Clifton. But who would have wanted to murder her, and is there some other foul play involved?

Reviews

  • Family Rivalries

    By Day Lili
Sweet Sixteen and Qincie parties are still part of the Hispanic culture, costing about the same as a wedding or one year college tuition. This book is an eye- opener for many unaware of the fierce competition to have these coming of age customs. Money can’t buy happiness, and has ruined many lives as clearly depicted in this book

Little longish and boring in between but very informative about litigatio cases ,the book end bit hurriedly but overall a thrilling , wellwrtitten work.

I liked the main character and his team. I thought the party, the family dynamics, accident and subsequent fallout were more interesting than the legal issues. I did think that the ending was pretty satisfying and wrapped up nicely. I could have done without the side story of the girlfriend as it didn’t really go anywhere? Maybe that’s addressed in the next book? A little bit too legalese and technical for the common man imo. Would be interested to know what people in the justice system thought about that part. But on the whole I did enjoy the read.

If you enjoy legal thrillers, you must add Daniel Maldonado to your list of authors to read. I loved the interweaving of Puerto Rico culture, food, and family dynamics into the story. Fun read with unexpected turns.

I rarely can’t finish a book and I tried but couldn’t go past chapter 10. Boring, nothing thrilling here.

No matter how a book starts out, I try to stick it out. This story is told horribly. Way too many irrelevant details. I tried to stick it out and just couldn’t get beyond 6 chapters. I’d fall asleep every time I’d try to read it. Apparently a mystery happens somewhere?

Great crime and law procedures with many twists and turns. I was mesmerized by the main characters and their secrets/lies/deceit.
