Description

“Unexpected and intense from the get-go. With irresistible characters, a rare setting and an inventive, high-powered plot, it's a smartly crafted gem of a story." - USA Today

While working on the Horn of Africa, archaeologist Morgan Adler's work and life are threatened, forcing her to make a desperate dash to a nearby US military base to beg for protection. Green Beret Pax Blanchard has orders to intercept Dr. Adler before she reaches the base, and in so doing saves her life, but his responsibilities toward protecting the woman have only just begun.

Morgan and Pax are forced to work together in the scorching desert heat, but it is the fire that ignites between them that threatens to consume them both. He protects her by day, but can he keep his hands off her when the sun goes down? One thing is certain, his job is no longer a matter of following orders, and he will risk everything to keep her safe.

Holy crap, this was so good. Heart pounding suspense, good romance, just all around incredible writing. I can’t believe this book was being offered for free too! I honestly think the writer did such an incredible job, this is easily written to be a feature film. I hope they have the movie rights and get this into someone’s hands. Wow.

Having lived in Djibouti on a government contract, I got goosebumps. The description was so spot on. A mix of romance, military intelligence, and third world issues, this was an excellent read.

Tinderbox is the first book in this fast paced series. A struggle in a foreign country, where water is rare to nonexistent and corruption reigns. This story moves forward wrapping the two main characters together as part of the solution, in a place where small victories make the only difference. Very intense, romance with steam. Excellent read.

All Rachel Grant’s books are winners. Five stars are not enough to rate her books.

Couldn't put this book down. I always enjoy this author's books, and this one certainly didn't disappoint. My attention was engaged from the beginning and never waned. I'll recommend this one to my friends.

One of my favorite Rachel Grant books thus far...and I loved the others! I had a very difficult time putting this book down. I found myself reading late into the night and stealing as many moments as I could to devour this one. Only to find myself both elated and sad that I had arrived at the end. Now I find myself just waiting for her next one.

One of the her best works yet! I have read all of Grant's works and I love her style of writing! This book is yet again was a perfect 5 from Grant! I love her use of strong, intellegent women in her books that may or may not need help from any man! And the men may be alphas but they respect and love the intellegent strong willed women they meet. I love how Grant uses real world issues and situations with acuracy and precision with attention to deals and events. And the romantic side of her books is off the charts. . .chemistry is spades! Highly recommend this book no matter if you are new to Grant or a long time fan like me!
  • Rachel Grant’s Evidence & Flashpoint series are a must read

It's a cold and rainy day and I started this book at 8:15 this morning and could not put it down. I loved the Evidence series and was thrilled to find Rachel Grant's new Flashpoint series, both series are fantastic and each one is better than the last. Exciting plot that keeps you involved to the very end. As always the excitement keeps you turning the pages. It’s an intriguing story-line with many twists, surprises and very well written. The main characters are well developed and have an interesting relationship. I also like it when characters from past books show up and help. However, you do not need to read the books in order, they are related but not dependent on the other stories. Absolutely riveting. I could not put the book down until I had read it in full. This was her best one yet.

Tinderbox is the first installment in the new series Flashpoint by Rachel Grant. The story is set in the lawless land of Djibouti, where China and USA, made a power play for the region to obtain a more favorable present position in Africa. Tinderbox is without a doubt another spectacular, well written book, that takes us through the heartwarming, emotional journey of the inner conflicts of a Green Beret and a penniless Archeologist, in the middle of a warlord and government conflict. Pax and Morgan have a scorching chemistry that could jeopardize their life and the success of their job.
