Welcome to Colombia
La Perseverancia Market is located in La Macarena Bogota. The construction of the Bavaria Beer Factory attracted a lot of workers from near neighborhoods to La Macarena, and because it was difficult to them to transport from their homes to their places of work, they started living in the neighborhood La Perseverancia, or as it is call nowadays “El Barrio Obrero” (The Worker’s Neighborhood) . Due this, it was created in 1940 La Perseverancia Market, to provide food to the new inhabitants of La Macarena (To know more about La Perseverancia Market history check this out: http://www.ipes.gov.co/index.php/programas/plazas-de-mercado/plaza-distrital-de-mercado-la-perseverancia).
La Perseverancia Market has a place for traditional Colombian food restaurants where people can try 14 different types of traditional Colombian cuisine, such as food from the Colombian Caribbean region, the Pacfiic Region and from the different departments of the Colombian Andean Mountains. In another space, there’s a spot for buying fruits and vegetables. Here you can try a lot of exotic Colombian fruits, such as Borojó, Tomate de Árbol, Lulo, Curuba or Banana Passion Fruit, Granadilla and Guanabana (To know more about exotic Colombian fruits check this out: https://www.colombia.co/en/colombia-culture/gastronomy/colombias-10-exotic-fruits/).
La Macarena Bogota (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Macarena_(Bogotá)) is a neighborhood located in Bogota’s Downtown and it is recognized by the restaurants located there (https://www.civico.com/bogota/noticias/21-restaurantes-para-gozarse-el-barrio-la-macarena), street art and touristic places such as the Planetarium of Bogota (https://www.planetariodebogota.gov.co), the Independence Park (https://www.idrd.gov.co/parque-la-independencia), la Plaza de Toros la Santamaría (http://www.colombia.travel/es/a-donde-ir/andina/bogota/actividades/visita-la-plaza-de-toros-la-santamaria), and the Museum of Modern Art of Bogota (MAMBO: https://www.mambogota.com).

Granadilla and Guanabana are my favorite fruits. They are very delicious and healthy. By the way, nice video!
The second day we arrived in Bogota we visited this huge market and we tasted all the fruits that we did not know before. On the next stand we drunk different juices of those unknown fruits and we felt the first time in love with this country. And everywhere in the country we got fresh juices every day and at any time of the day. We felt like in paradise.
"" Awesome.""
