I love sailing our home to new places and exotic islands…. In this episode of Drifting, we sail our home down the west coast of Pemba Island to Wete for our official check in. We explore local fruit and vegetable markets and drink some delicious freshly squeezed sugar cane juice!
We then set sail for a small uninhabited little island and get ready to explore a new unique destination… but not before Robin braais (barbecues) some freshly caught Cuta fish on our new and improved braai stand, off our sugar scoop! Thanks for watching!

Amazing video; thank you so much for showing us my lovely Island it has been 8years out of my country.
Another terrific video and glimpse into the less traveled destinations. I might have missed something in a previous video but when did you learn the local language?
I just came back from Mozambique and it was truly amazing. I kept on thinking about your adventures and how it almost looks the same as where you are now. Happy sailing!
I sailed down the Pemba Channel in the opposite direction from Kilifi to Zanzibar in 1993 – also failed to βcheck inβ at Wete and ended up (briefly) arrested by some otherwise friendly officials. Islands look the same now as 30 years ago – the fishing is amazing – Tuna every night and even hooked (but failed to land) a marlin – great memories! – how far north will you go? (Thinking pirates etc)
You are all very fortunate I rate it as an Epic family video, full of the warmth of the family Robin, Charlotte, and quick learner sailor young Moya. At the same time I get to learn about Africa through your eyes, having fun and adventure it shows, there is lots of love. Your videos warm the sailor's heart, SV Skoiern IV
Hi guys, I was married to an African and I just love the culture. Thank you for the videos. Keep up the good work. I said the daughter really enjoys travelling around Cliff from Logan city Queensland, Australia π¦πΊ from the big island ποΈ
Another great video, such amazing adventures you have. Thx for sharing, I always look forward to the next one! πβπ
Thanks, good video!
Wonderful video, so interesting to see the island and how the people live. Loved the freshly squeezed lemonade scene.
