Well I wouldn't really call this secluded way of life "living" but more like surviving especially for a foreigner. No vacations, no fun, no shopping, no travel. If you are so cheap to not even take a 3k-4k baht direct flight out of Samui to BKK…and forced to spend many hourse on the boat and then bus/train/plan…I'm not going to a different country to have it worse than in my own; Yes you can live with 1000/month (even in BKK) but it's not a life many foreigners would want.
Ok, dude, just 1000 bucks per month but where you take this money? Do you work somewhere in the place where you live? Have you got some business in Internet? If I want to come there how can I sustain myself? Any advice?
Only losers AND nerds finish there, AT Least you bring Ur european girlfriend or wife Is ok
Great video, I love the breakdown! Currently we live in Bali but have to check out Thailand for living next! 👍
Try to go in the Philippines 🇵🇭 so
Much quite cheaper
Love Thai food but not much because to much sweet the pad Thai noodles and most food is sweet the spring rolls sweet as well
Health Insurance.
Add $200 a month for someone 55+
He was just a minimum wage worker back in Austin Texas. That is why he prefers to have a better life in Samui.
foreign need remember, phuket,BKK, tourist city life have 5x expensive than normal all other thailand city. phuket have most expensive city in thailand and bangkok. about 5-7x expensive than all other citys and north thailand can be all same service and food than tourist city have but cheapen.
1000$/moth have very normal living cost if stay long and have own house live retiree in thailand. i have live this money last 10 year in thailand comfortable
I have a girlfriend living in Chiangrai, Thailand. She earned around $900/month. After taxes etc., she brings home (Net) only $700/month. This may not make her rich. But she was able to rent a place by herself and own a pretty nice size new car (Honda). I visited her almost once a year (except the lockdown last few years). To me, she seem to be doing okay with this salary.
I hope you can help me?
you mean living like grandma ?
This guy. 1 k is a lot
Beautiful property 😍
Thanks! Your videos are so helpful and entertaining!
Good example! I am looking for a place like this!
Thanks for upload nice video
A good break down of costs, but for someone with only 3.7 k youtube subscribers how does he make a living from that surely he is supporting him self with savings,if i am wong can you explain how he manage to make money of such thew subscribers thanks.
It’s just not realistic. I’ve lived on samui for years and this guys lifestyle isn’t even worth it
You can live cheaply on $1000 a month if you have no rent and eat rice for every meal. After decades in Thailand inflation has hit Thailand hard.
I would love to know the hacks to find such cheap housing in islands of Thailand. Have tried to rent a long term home in samui and wasn’t getting anything less than $1000. Do the landlords there give discounts if you say you’re from US, CA, EU, or you’re an established YouTuber?
@hi mike. Lamai is my favorite place to live in Koh Samui. lived there for a long time in the past. great retreats and vegan food etc,
