In this video, I’ll take you to the Mercado de San Juan, or San Juan Market, known for it’s selection of gourmet foods and exotic meats. Here you can find rare delicacies like lion burgers, ostrich eggs, and chocolate-covered cockroaches, among MANY other bizarre food choices. It should definitely be a stop on your Mexican food tour of CDMX, but be warned, it is not for the faint of heart!*I apologize for the framing/closeup during Round 1: Bug Platter of Death. We had to share the table with not one, but two, very large tarantula aquariums. Not even joking.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………There are actually a few markets of the same name, as well as an exotic meat wholesaler, so be sure to go to the correct San Juan Market: https://goo.gl/maps/Rhxxb52xR7T94fy8AWould you be able to eat lion or tiger? What about a platter of insects? Let me know in the comments below, or tell me your weirdest food experience!…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..If you liked this video, be sure to check out some of the other strange foods I’ve tried!“Live” octopus: https://www.acrosstheuniversewithjanette.com/2018/08/extreme-food-korea.htmlLamb intestines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orCoNngWoAo#extremefood #bizarrefood #mexicocity #mexicanfood #exoticmeat

Que valientes son. Yo no me atrevo. Saludos
The extravagant and surreal Spanish painter Salvador Dalí, when he visited Mexico, told a journalist that he would never return to Mexico because he could not bear that the country was more Surrealist than him. 😂😂 Greetings from Mexico City.
How brave of you Janette to eat all this. 👍 Greetings from Turkey.🌴🇹🇷
Wormed up. heheh
I used to go there a lot before. One day about 7 years ago all of a sudden there was tons of the insect stalls. It used to be mostly the exotic meats, chapulines, gusanos de maguey, chicatanas and escamoles. If you get a chance try the escamoles (ant larvae). They should be coming in season. They are the best appetizer to share. Explosion of flavor in a taco. The best tapas are from La Jersey , get the mascarpone , fig and honey. No fear of trying things good job. Ahhh one thing people don't consider is having some of the fishmongers fix you up a plate of fresh ceviches or tostadas with the clams…yum!!!
😍😍😍 guapa buen video

Hello. Is Mexican food really so spicy? I think there's a very different food culture. How did you eat that bug? It turned out to be a very nice video telling about and promoting the city. Thanks. I'm waiting for such videos. See you.
