Cute guysโฆ love the video โค
Come down to Scottburgh Beach.
I love you south Africa
This video is very informative I like the parks
I grew up in Amanzimtoti South Africa and never thought I was raised by lower income parents, during a time when everyone treated each other with respect. We didn't eat a lot of fast food because it was considered a treat, not a food group. We drank water that came from our kitchen tap. We ate mince meat, lamb, sausages, cheese sandwiches, but mostly homemade meals consisting of mainly salad, meat, potatoes, vegetables, bread, butter, and homemade dessert.
We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns, pulled weeds, babysat, helped neighbors with chores to be able to earn our own money.
We went outside a lot to play hop scotch, football, netball, hockey, tag, fish , swim, ride bikes, run with friends & played hide and seek.
We drank tap water from the water hose outside… bottled water was unheard of. If we had a coke -it was in a glass bottle … and we didnโt break the bottle when finished ..
After school, we came home and did homework and chores, before going outside or having friends over. We would ride our bikes for hours. We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and be home when the street lights came on!
You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them, and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW, and you did not question it, and you had better know it!!!
In school we stood for the National Anthem, and listened to our teachers.
We watched what we said around our elders because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up we would get our behinds whipped, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline!
We held doors, carried groceries, and gave up our seat for an older person without being asked. You didn't hear curse words on the radio in songs or TV, and if you swore and got caught you had a bar of soap stuck in your mouth.
โPlease, Thank you, yes please, no thank you, yes ma'am, no ma'am yes sir, and no sir were part of our daily vocabulary!
You grew up to respect the Nation, and the flag.
The world we live in now is just so full of crooked people, hate and disrespect for others
Re-post if you're thankful for your childhood. I will never forget where I came from and only wish children now days had half the chance at the fun and respect for real life we grew up with! โจ
When we were at amanzimtoti was a big sand bag in the middle of the ocean but I was 11 years old child and I could have turned their I loved it so much there but now it's flooded everything is gone even the hotel where he lives is flooded no because of

Great video. I grew up in Toti and lived on Warner Beach (brown block of flats) for a few years. We live in Australia now, but it is really nice to see the place again and that it is flourishing. (Galaria looks fantastic, that's after we moved away.) Also good to see some old school friends here, hello Lance. ๐

I grew up in Amanzimtoti and miss this place. I got fond memories of this coastal town. Very popular holiday destination , very nice flats and shopping centers and yes of course the beach as well. People are very friendly and since Toti have Galleria shopping g mall I'm sure it will be a very much visited place.
As a kid we always holidayed at Sondella Caravan Park since the 60s. My folks lived in Toti for many years. Scattered their ashes there in May this year. Baggies rocks. Sardine runs and fresh Shad! Happy days and good memories.
Great video. I grew up in Toti and now living in Australia. We forget how beautiful it is…beaches are world class!

Beautiful Toti! We miss it so much! We lived there for 15 years and In the last 2 years we relocated to upper highway area..Thank you for taking us down memory lane!๐๐๐
I love winklespruit. My dad has a flat that is 200m from that beach. Great memories down there. We would always walk to Warner beach to get ice cream and walk back, great times. Craig if you donโt mind me asking, what years did you work at that video shop? That was the best thing I remembered when I was a kid. I was just in SA again, was great being back, unfortunately I could not go out of gauteng due to Covid. Would have been nice to go to the sea. We always went to Galleria mall when it rained. I can keep on going with many stories wherever you guys go. I remember I spent 2017 new year at the thirsty whale. Awesome video
I am from Toti
My dad died in a whirlpool at Warner beach. We got sucked in by a rip current. My dad died saving my brother. Be very very careful at Warner beach. Stop and buy a life jacket if your kid doesn't know how to swim in the ocean and always remind them to not freak out and rather turn on their back and just wait for someone to help them.
Took me down memory lane, thank you for that. ๐ I wont be able to go back any time soon, because i am in Portugal since 1991. But Totiยดs look quite the same as my good memories <3
Awesome video guys. Was great meeting u ๐ค
Add the surfing … @ baggies !! the best !!
The first South Coast Highland Gathering was held on June the 15th 1963, as part of a fund raising event for Umbogintwini Primary School. The organisers were Cliff and Betty Leesam, a Scottish family, and involved Dr Ian Dalziel and his wife Pat. Lion Pat Dalziel is still heavily involved in this annual event. The Highland Gathering continued to be held at this venue until 1969.
At this time the Amanzimtoti area was relatively undeveloped and much of it was farming units. In those days, for economic viability, the Highland Gathering was held as a joint event involving the Amanzimtoti Agricultural Show.
In 1970 the venue for the event was moved to Athlone Park Primary School and in 1972 to Kingsway High School. In 1973 a committee involving Pat Dalziel organised the event on wasteland by the river, then in 1974 and 1975 in front of the municipal buildings. In 1976 the Amanzimtoti Lions became involved and the event moved to its current venue at Hutchison Park. In 1990 the Lions took over full responsibility for the event.
The event is reputedly the largest of its specific type in the Southern Hemisphere and enjoys attendances exceeding 10,000 most years weather permitting.
Great video!
I grew up in Toti and went to Warner Beach Primary School. We moved down from Pretoria when I was 2 years old and moved further and further down the coast as the years went on!
We lived in Toti, Doonside, Warner Beach, St Winifreds, Winkelspruit, Illovo Beach and eventually Umkomaas.
