I'm on fence about this book. The beginning is very slow moving, to much detail I think. I was more than half way thru the book before it got into the really good stuff. Once there I couldn't put it down. Then the book ended to soon. It's a cliff hanger & need to read the next book in series. The characters, sets are very detailed & are very in depth. You really get to know the characters.

The world in which the Ice Fire Trilogy is set is delicately balanced and tipping the scales one way or the other is the impetus that propels the story forward. The main characters are compelling and well defined, each with his/her own strengths and imperfections, both literally and figuratively. Ice Fire Trilogy is a uniquely imaginative adventure set forth in a fantastical world that felt like it could be real on so many levels - with just the right touch of "magic". Do yourself a favor and dive into the bundled 3 set. You will thank me later!

The underdog is the hero and good triumphs over evil. A good read with imagination and heart. I enjoyed it!
